The zoo occupies the southern half of Grant Park. Habitats are spacious and naturalistic, with plenty of trees, bushes, watering holes and cozy dens. That makes animals who naturally live in trees, bushes and cozy dens hard to see sometimes, but patience usually pays off. The Kenyan habitat has giraffes, zebras, ostriches, antelope, rhinos, lions and tigers. On a smaller scale, birds, freaky reptiles, insects and snakes also all make their home in the zoo.

Cuisine: Brazillian Steakhouse
Neighborhood: Buckhead
Information: (404) 266-9988
This Brazilian churrascaria caters to your inner hunter-gatherer. All you can eat of 15 different cuts of meat,
plus the offerings of a deeply stocked salad bar and small dishes of yucca and mashed potatoes, comes for a
single price. A small plastic disc--one side green, one side red--allows you to signal the servers when you are
ready for more. Cuts like filet are obviously popular, but be sure to try a more flavorful cut like rump steak,
perfectly grilled leg of lamb or even grilled sausages.

Cuisine: Seafood, Steakhouse
Neighborhood: Buckhead
Information: (404) 262-2675
Loosely modeled on the famed Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station, complete with a vaulted-tiled ceiling,
this downstairs adjunct of Chops steakhouse is awash in old-world class. While steaks are available in the Lobster Bar,
if you want meat, you're better off upstairs. Start with crab cakes,
surprisingly light given the abundance of moist lump meat they contain. Live Maine lobsters--ranging from two to five
pounds--are fried, steamed or broiled to order and arrive tender to the bite, with just the right balance of briny and sweet
tones.

Cuisine: Italian Southern, Pizza
Neighborhood: Midtown
Information: (404) 879-9962
Simple flavors and restrained culinary associations rule the day at this modest trattoria. Pizzas--especially the tasty
rucola e prosciutto and the quattro formaggio--are the real winners here. Prepared in a beehive brick oven in the dining room they
make a perfect entree on their own or with a salad. Go with a crowd so you can try several.

Cuisine: Italian Pasta
Neighborhood: Dunwoody
Information: (770) 698-0505
The concept is delightfully simple. Choose a favorite from among the dozen or so pastas. Then select a sauce;
choices range from smoky vodka-spiked salmon and peas to zesty pancetta and red pepper Amatriciana.
Bracing, tomato-based arrabbiata and rich, reduced cream funghi also pair well with most of the pastas.
Delicious, doughy, sauce-sopping bread comes on the side; springy buffalo mozzarella caprese salad makes another
nice accompaniment. For dessert, sample the indulgent java-dusted tiramisu.

Cuisine: American Creole
Neighborhood: Midtown, Smyrna
Information: (404) 537-2870
Despite the myriad creative touches that make the menu a fun read, the best dishes here are the simplest. Buttermilk fried chicken is honest food--
crispy skin and moist meat get extra support from homey bourbon gravy. Tangy chow chow and Creole mustard sauce add zip to
meaty crab cakes; sherry provides the perfect grace note to a soothing bowl of creamy she-crab soup. It's unlikely the decadent,
satisfying pecan pie will ever leave the menu: It alone makes regulars out of first-time visitors.

The menu gives Chinese classics a contemporary tweak; dishes are artfully presented, with many sauces made tableside by servers.
Signature plates include diced chicken wrapped in cool lettuce leaves, orange-peel beef with chili peppers, and wok-fried
scallops with lemon sauce. For the sporty set, the eatery features a tasty training table menu with input from world-class
athletes. There are also menus for special diets, vegetarian options and an extensive wine list.
